Set in the quiet Derbyshire countryside, Trent Valley Crematorium has become a trusted place for families to say goodbye. From our wonderful, light-filled chapel to our accessible gardens of remembrance, every detail is designed to offer support and care. Our thoughtfully landscaped gardens blend seamlessly with the countryside and welcome local wildlife, from honeybees to nesting birds. This is beautiful space to come together to remember and celebrate a life.
A chapel for all faiths and beliefs
Floor-to-ceiling windows fill this unique and modern chapel with natural light. Whether you’re planning an intimate funeral or a large gathering at Trent Valley Crematorium, you’ll find comfortable seating for up to 140 family and friends, and room for an additional 200 guests to stand. Our modern sound system is available to play personal music or voice recordings, or you can choose music from our extensive library. We have space for singers and musicians too.

A compassionate team to support you
If you need support to arrange a cremation in Ashton-on-Trent, or nearby areas such as Derby, Nottingham or Burton upon Trent, we work with local funeral directors, faith leaders and celebrants across Derbyshire. Trent Valley Crematorium is equipped with a music system, screens for visual tributes and webcasting for those joining remotely. A waiting room with refreshments, hearing loop and fully accessible facilities including baby changing are also available, with ample parking including coach spaces on site. Cremation services at Trent Valley Crematorium
We offer attended and unattended cremation services at Trent Valley Crematorium
An attended cremation
Where family and friends come together for a funeral or memorial service in our chapel. You can personalise the service with music, readings and tributes. Loved ones will be able to spend a few moments with the coffin before leaving the chapel.
An attended direct cremation
This option enables families to attend the crematorium to see the coffin in the chapel. Although there is no funeral or memorial service, you can choose the music that is playing and will be able to spend a few moments with the coffin.
An unattended, direct cremation
A direct cremation means there is no funeral or memorial service in the chapel, and no mourners in attendance.

Our fees
All cremation fees at Trent Valley Crematorium include:
• The use of our chapel
• A single tribute photo displayed on screen throughout the service (not available for attended direct cremations)
• The use of our state-of-the-art media system to play music of your choice
• All services relating to the administration and registration of the cremation, in line with statutory regulation
• Certificate of cremation
• Provision of a container for the ashes
• The option to witness the scattering of the ashes within our Gardens of Remembrance, or preparation of the ashes for collection
