About The Crematoria and Memorial Group (CMG)

Our crematoria and cemeteries have served communities across the UK for over 150 years. From our first London cemetery in the 1800s to our bright, modern crematoria today, we are proud to live and work in the communities we care for.

Our mission

At The Crematoria and Memorial Group, our mission is to provide compassionate, respectful care during life's most challenging times, supporting you when it matters most.

With 45 crematoria and 12 cemeteries across the country, CMG combines the reassurance and high standards of a trusted national organisation with the personal care of our experienced local teams.

Each crematorium and cemetery is locally run, and we are committed to supporting people of all faiths and beliefs to create meaningful farewells and lasting memorials.

Whatever brings you to CMG, whether it’s a direct cremation, a cremation with a service, a burial or a memorial, you’ll receive the same high standard of care from our exceptional, compassionate teams.

Our approach

We believe in creating beautiful, peaceful spaces for remembrance and reflection.

Our teams work with people at every stage of their journey, from those arranging a service or memorial now, to those planning ahead and pre-purchasing space so they can rest together in the future.

Some of our crematoria have served their communities for generations, and we’ve taken the care to preserve and restore these historic buildings. Others have been built more recently and we’re proud of the welcoming, light-filled spaces we’ve created, surrounded by thoughtfully landscaped gardens of remembrance.

We care for and maintain cemeteries across the UK, in partnership with local councils and authorities. We also operate our own cemeteries, where we're committed to creating new grave spaces and offering a wide variety of options for people of all faiths and backgrounds.

Our commitment to the environment

We are custodians of memorial grounds across the country, ranging from 2 to 55 acres. Our skilled gardeners are creating spaces where nature can thrive, protecting mature trees, seeding wildflower meadows, creating memorial gardens and preserving natural habitats for wildlife.

Some of our sites have been awarded for this work, including The Green Flag Award (an international accreditation scheme that sets the benchmark standard for publicly accessible parks and green spaces), and the In Bloom Award (recognising excellence in horticulture, environmental responsibility, and community participation).

Our commitment to the communities we serve

We encourage our teams to be active in the community. So, you may find them doing anything from sharing the food grown in our grounds with local charities, to organising an Easter Egg Appeal, a walk-and-talk event or an open day.

We also arrange remembrance services for key times throughout the year, including Mothers’ Day, Fathers’ Day, Christmas services and more.

Our doors are always open to people who would like to visit.

We are part of the Dignity Group

The Crematoria and Memorial Group is part of the Dignity Group. We work with local Dignity funeral directors, providing the peace of mind that everything is arranged by one trusted team.
