Our crematorium and memorial grounds
For over 80 years, Oxford Crematorium has been a trusted place for families to say goodbye. Our two chapels, suitable for either intimate or larger services, have been sensitively refurbished to create bright, welcoming spaces. Every detail has been designed to ensure our guests feel supported and cared for. Set within 22 acres of immaculate grounds, the chapels are linked by elegant, covered arcades. The grounds which feature ponds, beautiful rose gardens, mature trees and wildflower areas are also home to local wildlife.
A chapel for all faiths and beliefs
At Oxford Crematorium we have two modern chapels for large or private services. St John’s Chapel seats up to 90 people with additional room for guests to stand, while our Memorial Chapel is ideal for smaller, private funeral services of up to 35 guests. Both chapels have been sensitively refurbished to create bright, welcoming spaces. Each chapel offers the option to play pre-recorded music, and both chapels have an organ and space for singers and musicians too.

Our services
Cremation services at Oxford Crematorium
We offer attended and unattended cremation services at Oxford Crematorium
An attended cremation
Where family and friends come together for a funeral or memorial service in our chapel. You can personalise the service with music, readings and tributes. Loved ones will be able to spend a few moments with the coffin before leaving the chapel.
An attended direct cremation
This option enables families to attend the crematorium to see the coffin in the chapel. Although there is no funeral or memorial service, you can choose the music that is playing and will be able to spend a few moments with the coffin.
An unattended, direct cremation
A direct cremation means there is no funeral or memorial service in the chapel, and no mourners in attendance.
For more information about personalising a service, speak to your funeral director, or contact us.
