Our crematorium and memorial grounds
For almost 70 years, Hawkinge Crematorium has been a trusted place for families to say a meaningful farewell. Set within six acres of carefully tended gardens, our distinctive chapel offers a peaceful, intimate setting to hold a funeral and celebrate a life. Our memorial gardens provide a tranquil space for reflection throughout the year, with accessible pathways, water features and well-tended flower beds. This is a welcoming place for visitors, whether you are attending a service or visiting in remembrance.
A chapel for all faiths and beliefs
Our chapel at Hawkinge Crematorium offers comfortable seating for up to 63 family and friends. For larger funerals, we have room for a further 100 guests to stand at the back of the chapel, where there are screens and speakers to ensure that everyone will feel included. Our modern sound system is available to play music of your choice, or, if you would prefer live music, we have room for singers and musicians too.

If you need support to arrange a cremation in Folkestone, or nearby areas such as Dover, Hythe or Ashford, we work with local funeral directors, faith leaders and celebrants across Kent. Hawkinge Crematorium's chapel near Folkestone is equipped with a music system, screens for visual tributes and webcasting for those joining remotely. On-site parking is also available. Cremation services at Hawkinge Crematorium
We offer attended and unattended cremation services at Hawkinge Crematorium
An attended cremation
Where family and friends come together for a funeral or memorial service in our chapel. You can personalise the service with music, readings and tributes. Loved ones will be able to spend a few moments with the coffin before leaving the chapel.
An attended direct cremation
This option enables families to attend the crematorium to see the coffin in the chapel. Although there is no funeral or memorial service, you can choose the music that is playing and will be able to spend a few moments with the coffin.
An unattended, direct cremation
A direct cremation means there is no funeral or memorial service in the chapel, and no mourners in attendance.

Our fees
All cremation fees at Hawkinge Crematorium include:
• The use of our chapel
• A single tribute photo displayed on screen throughout the service (not available for attended direct cremations)
• The use of our state-of-the-art media system to play music of your choice
• All services relating to the administration and registration of the cremation, in line with statutory regulation
• Certificate of cremation
• Provision of a container for the ashes
• The option to witness the scattering of the ashes within our Gardens of Remembrance, or preparation of the ashes for collection
