Cremation services at East Riding Crematorium

We offer attended and unattended cremation services at East Riding Crematorium

An attended cremation

Where family and friends come together for a funeral or memorial service in our chapel. You can personalise the service with music, readings and tributes. Loved ones will be able to spend a few moments with the coffin before leaving the chapel.

An attended direct cremation

This option enables families to attend the crematorium to see the coffin in the chapel. Although there is no funeral or memorial service, you can choose the music that is playing and will be able to spend a few moments with the coffin.

An unattended, direct cremation

A direct cremation means there is no funeral or memorial service in the chapel, and no mourners in attendance.

For more information about personalising a service, speak to your funeral director, or contact us.

What families say about us

A very good venue for my Mum’s funeral service. A lovely building, situated in the countryside.

I’ve scored the crematorium 3 stars as we found the staff to be very inflexible when we asked for refreshments after my Mum’s service.

Both the Funeral Director and us contacted the venue separately and on both occasions we were advised that refreshments weren’t available - as the services before and after my Mum’s had requested refreshments and they were unable to provide any for our mourners.

We were told that the venue only provides a certain amount of refreshments each day.

We did ask if it was possible to order just hot drinks and water but were told it wasn’t possible for the same reason.

We found such inflexibility very frustrating at such a distressing point in our lives.

I understand there are pubs etc in villages a few miles away but clearly not as convenient. Of course, not everyone wants to head off to a pub after a service either.

So, please do bear this in mind when thinking about using this crematorium.

It's very difficult leaving a review for a crematorium but I found octon to be wonderful we was greeted with the staff who was so respectful they explained the service procedure.the chapel is a lovely peaceful place to reflect the funeral.the grounds and garden were tremendous so peaceful and plenty of car parking places. I would like to thank the staff for taking care of myself and my family thank you.

We have attended several funerals at ERC and have always been struck by the beauty and tranquility both inside and outside. When my husband died there was no doubt other than to hold the ceremony at Octon. All arrangements and procedures were seamless, dignified and personal as expected.
