Our crematorium and memorial grounds
For more than 25 years, East Riding crematorium has been a trusted place to say a meaningful goodbye. With two chapels for larger or more intimate funeral services, and an onsite hospitality suite for receptions, this is a calm and welcoming space to come together and celebrate a life. Our well-established gardens offer a peaceful place for reflection throughout the year, whether attending a service or visiting in remembrance.
A chapel for all faiths and beliefs
Our larger cremation chapel features a balcony which overlooks our beautiful stained-glass window. Downstairs there is comfortable seating for up to 154 guests, with 35 seats on the balcony. For larger funeral services, our covered flower court provides extra room for guests to stand. Our smaller chapel is available for more intimate funeral services. With seating for up to 16 guests, this is a peaceful setting for a more private farewell.

A compassionate team to support you
If you need support to arrange a cremation in Driffield, or nearby areas such as Bridlington, Beverley or Scarborough, we work with local funeral directors, faith leaders and celebrants across Yorkshire and Humber. East Riding Crematorium is equipped with a music system, screens for visual tributes and webcasting for those joining remotely. A hospitality suite for wakes after the funeral, and fully accessible facilities including baby changing, are also available. Cremation services at East Riding Crematorium
We offer attended and unattended cremation services at East Riding Crematorium
An attended cremation
Where family and friends come together for a funeral or memorial service in our chapel. You can personalise the service with music, readings and tributes. Loved ones will be able to spend a few moments with the coffin before leaving the chapel.
An attended direct cremation
This option enables families to attend the crematorium to see the coffin in the chapel. Although there is no funeral or memorial service, you can choose the music that is playing and will be able to spend a few moments with the coffin.
An unattended, direct cremation
A direct cremation means there is no funeral or memorial service in the chapel, and no mourners in attendance.

Our fees
All cremation fees at East Riding Crematorium include:
• The use of our chapel
• A single tribute photo displayed on screen throughout the service (not available for attended direct cremations)
• The use of our state-of-the-art media system to play music of your choice
• All services relating to the administration and registration of the cremation, in line with statutory regulation
• Certificate of cremation
• Provision of a container for the ashes
• The option to witness the scattering of the ashes within our Gardens of Remembrance, or preparation of the ashes for collection
